backpacks filled with care
Each week, our team works behind the scenes to ensure children in Central Kitsap School District have the food they need to thrive. The program provides students with discreet, easy-to-carry weekend food bags filled with kid-friendly meals, snacks, and essentials for when school meals aren’t available.
We partner with counselors and staff at local elementary, middle, and secondary schools to identify students who may benefit from extra support. Once requests are received, our volunteers sort donations, pack balanced food bags, and coordinate distribution so every backpack reaches the right student before they head home for the weekend.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
Our program thrives thanks to the generous support of grants, sponsors, and community partners. These contributions allow us to provide hundreds of students with nutritious, ready-to-eat weekend food bags each month. Every item we pack is carefully selected to ensure it is wholesome, easy to prepare, and suitable for children of all ages.
Your sponsorship or grant funding directly impacts the lives of local students. By helping us ease weekend food insecurity, you reduce stress for families and give children the chance to return to school on Monday focused, energized, and ready to learn. Each backpack represents more than just food—it’s a tangible demonstration that the community cares about their well-being and future success.
